Built by one developer, on rules the story can’t break

Fate of Minds is an AI-narrated role-playing game for iOS and Android. It is still in development, and this page says plainly who is making it and how it works.

The studio

The studio is one independent developer. The game, its rule engine and its servers are designed and built by the same person, which is why they fit together instead of being bolted on.

Work began in August 2025. There is no release yet, so this site shows what exists and promises nothing that does not.

What we are making

A chat window can tell a story. It cannot be trusted to keep score.

In this game you write what your character does, in your own words. An AI Game Master answers with the story, the dice decide whether it works, and a server keeps the record. The story supplies the drama; the rules supply the truth.

Play a free-form Sandbox story, or switch to FRPG, where the full rule engine adds dice, quests and inventory. Fantasy, science fiction, modern, historical, horror or post-apocalyptic: the world is yours to choose, in English or Turkish.

How it’s built

The short version, for anyone who wants to know what sits under the story.

What happens in one turn

  1. You write what you do

The app sends your intent to a server function. The phone never talks to an AI model directly.

  2. The model proposes

A third-party large language model reads the situation and suggests what should happen. It is a suggestion, not a ruling.

  3. The server decides

The server picks the rule, rolls the dice and writes the outcome to the database in a single transaction.

  4. The model narrates, the phone shows

The model tells what actually happened, and the app displays the numbers exactly as the server wrote them.

How one turn flows through the systemThe phone sends the player intent to a single server function. The server function is the only door to two things: the rules and dice engine in Postgres, which decides and writes, and third-party large language models, which propose and narrate. The result goes back to the phone, which only displays it.Your phoneOnly displaysintentresultServer functionThe only door: sign-in, limits, spend capRules + diceDecides and writesPostgres, one transactionLanguage modelsPropose and narrateThird-party

Technical choices

  • Expo and React Native

One mobile codebase for iOS and Android.

  • Supabase backend

Postgres with row-level security, plus Edge Functions for every server-side step.

  • One door to the AI

Language models are called only from server functions. Nothing on the phone reaches them directly.

  • The server holds authority

The AI suggests, the server decides and writes, the client only shows. That order never flips.

  • Dice on the server

Every roll happens server-side. Neither the phone nor the model can roll one or change it.

  • A spend ceiling

AI usage has a hard monthly limit enforced on the server, not a setting in the app.

What we hold to

  • Fair dice

A roll is made once, on the server, and recorded. It cannot be faked by the story or nudged by the app.

  • Your data, your call

You can delete your account whenever you like. It closes at once, and your data is permanently deleted within 30 days.

    How deletion works

  • An honest launch

The game is not out yet and we say so. No dates we cannot keep, no features we have not built.
